Set within the vast Alentejo landscape of southern Portugal, this compact wooden house was designed as a retreat for a couple and their three young adult children, positioned near the medieval castle of Monsaraz with sweeping views over the Alqueva reservoir. Conceived as a collaborative process between the family and Madeiguincho, the project brings together craftsmanship, spatial efficiency and a deep sensitivity to place. It serves as a seasonal home — a space for weekends, holidays, and pauses — offering a quiet, grounded way of inhabiting the landscape.
